Highlight of the Month
As well as celebrating the 250th year of our great country, the United States of America, this month, we are also celebrating the 225th year of the beginning of what is now known as Campbellsburg Baptist Church. It was united and constituted on July 11, 1801by Brother Tharpe (first name unknown) and a band of earnest Christians. He was crippled and unable to travel to the various churches around. Our church joined the Salem Association along with other Baptist Churches which were Cron Creek, Trimble County, Burkes Branch, and Shelby County. You may find more information about the early church in Spencers History of Kentucky Baptists. The only written records we have of this organization of 1801 is the Articles of Faith and Rules of Decorum that the members of the church drew up among themselves as a guide to follow. Please contact us if you are interested in the history of our church.
